PORTLAND + VANCOUVER Your local event discovery guide

A LITTLE HELP GETTING OUT THERE

Good questions.
Clear answers.

How listings work, how to share an event, and how to get your venue connected.

What is GoingOn.Today?

A local event discovery guide for Portland, Vancouver, and the surrounding metro. We collect listings from approved public calendars and link you to the original event page.

Do you sell tickets or host events?

No. Tickets, registration, refunds, age restrictions, and accessibility arrangements are handled by the organizer. Use “View original event” to check current details.

How often are listings refreshed?

Connected, approved feeds are scheduled to refresh every six hours. Times are shown in Pacific time. Always check the original listing before making plans.

How can my venue request that its feed be added?

Send a venue feed request with your venue or organization name, contact email, public event calendar, and feed URL if you have one. Public iCalendar (.ics), supported JSON feeds, and The Events Calendar API are supported. If you do not know your feed address, send your calendar page and we will review it.

What happens after a feed request?

We check local coverage, dates, locations, original links, and whether the feed is suitable to reuse. Once a source is approved and enabled, valid upcoming listings publish automatically. A request does not connect a source automatically.

Can I suggest one event and add a picture?

Yes. Use Suggest an event to share its original URL and an optional JPEG, PNG, or WebP picture up to 2 MB. Only upload artwork you have permission to share. Suggestions and pictures are reviewed privately and do not automatically appear on the site.

Why does an event say “See source for price”?

Some feeds omit prices or describe several admission options. We do not assume an event is free when its price is unknown. Check the original page for pricing and availability.

How do I report an incorrect or cancelled event?

Send the listing or original event URL and explain what needs correcting. The organizer controls the original event; we can review the directory listing and its source.

How do sponsored listings and banner ads work?

Sponsored cards and image banners are labeled “Sponsored” and can target matching event categories. Banners appear above or below the event listings. Advertising does not change an event’s source information. Contact us about advertising.
