Native Forest Stories

About this event

Join Native storyteller, educator, and musician Karen Kitchen for Native Forest Stories, a monthly gathering celebrating the connections between people, culture, and the natural world. Designed for young children from infants through grade school, each gathering brings the forest to life through Native storytelling, songs, crafts, puppets, and hands-on activities. Children will explore forest themes, spark their imaginations, and discover new ways to connect with the natural world. A wonderful opportunity for families, caregivers, and homeschoolers to learn, create, and explore together! About Karen: Karen Kitchen is a member of the Osage Nation of Oklahoma, an educator, musician, and advocate for Native American youth and families in Portland. With nearly 30 years of experience in education, she brings Native perspectives and traditional ways of knowing to her work, connecting culture, storytelling, music, and science to inspire learning and curiosity.
