Join Professor Palshikar, a New York-based, second generation Indian magician as he visits the region and Portland-based Historical Conjurer, Professor DR Schreiber for an unique evening of mystery and history.\nThursday, August 13th, 2026Doors open at 7pmShow at 8pm\n\nProfessor Palshikar\nShreeyash is the leading performer of world magic. Born in India thirteen days after Halloween, his ancestors include a Mormon prophet, Hindu priest, and an Indian magician. He has lived and worked around the world for decades, and is now based in New York. He began performing in school, and has traveled the world ever since. Combining the best of East & West, Shreeyash created fusion jadoo. Executives, college presidents, city mayors, and even royalty enjoy his fun, unique, bespoke performances and talks.\nDr. Palshikar earned a PhD in South Asian studies from University of Chicago and has taught at Oxford, Yale, the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, and Fordham University in New York. He won a Fulbright fellowship to study traditional Indian magic with the last living performers, and has studied Chicago magic and improv. He has collaborated with the American Centers in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, an Emmy award winning Broadway producer/director, New York based Bindlestiff Cirkus, the Asian Arts Initiative, WHYY, FirstPerson Arts, FringeArts, and others to share the wonder of Indian magic in venues around the world for 3 decades.\nHe consulted on the Disney+ and Discovery series Beyond Belief, on a Vanishing Inc documentary, and is creating an original film on Indian magic. He has appeared on the Holland America World Cruises, at Harvard, Yale, and at the Smithsonian.\nEnjoy his fusion jadoo live, up close and in person: fun, enchanting, and enlightening. Come, let him take a peek into your mind.\n\nProfessor DR Schreiber\nThe World of the Historical Conjurer Early in the 18th century, magic (or conjuring as it was referred) emerged as a genuine art form and entertainment. Professors of natural philosophy and conjuring would rent taverns, legitimate theaters or lecture halls for the exhibition and displays of legerdemain, necromancy, or what would today be called “illusion” and “magic tricks.” Top dollar would be paid by the citizens of Europe to see the latest discoveries in the science of “natural philosophy.” Today, Professor DR Schreiber presents an historic look at the beginnings of modern magic in his performances and exhibitions.\nJoin Professor DR Schreiber as he leads you on a stroll through the past centuries of conjuring entertainment. His unique presentations entertain while educating the audience about historical events, literary and cultural figures, and the science and art of conjuring.
