It may have been a moment, a day, a week, or a year before. It is a story that is meant to celebrate their lives and the absolute genius of childhood. Peace is the opposite of war, but childhood can seem like a truer opposite, a more tangible one, and this book seeks to make a case for that possibility.\n\nSiamak Vossoughi is an Iranian-American writer living in Seattle. His first short story collection, Better Than War, received a 2014 Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction and his second, A Sense of the Whole, received the 2019 Orison Fiction Prize. He teaches in the College of Education at the University of Washington.\n\nAbout Third Place Books\nFounded in 1998 in Lake Forest Park, Washington, Third Place Books is dedicated to the creation of a community around books and the ideas inside them. With locations in Lake Forest Park and Seattle’s Ravenna and Seward Park neighborhoods, Third Place Books is proud to serve the entire Seattle metro area.
